Universities and Boards Department of Sindh government has allowed Syed Ghulam Mujtaba Shah, brother of PPP leader MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah to continue as Chairman, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Sukkur till the appointment of Regular Chairman.

Syed Ghulam Mujtaba Shah continues enjoying the office of Chairman BISE Sukkur since 2011.

Sources said that on November 25, 2021, the Universities and Boards Department, on the completion of the tenure of Mujtaba Shah as Chairman BISE Sukkur had assigned the additional charge to Nasim Ahmed Memon, Chairman BISE Larkana. However, when Nasim Ahmed Memon went to BISE Sukkur for assuming the charge, was allegedly denied and misbehaved.

Sources said that Mr. Memon without assuming the charge left the office of the Chairman BISE Sukkur and informed authorities about the incident.

On Friday, Universities and Boards Department withdrew its own order of additional charge and allowed Syed Ghulam Mujtaba Shah to continue as Chairman BISE Sukkur till the appointment of Regular Chairman.

Sources said that Syed Ghulam Mujtaba Shah had on November 25 completed his third tenure as Chairman BISE Sukkur. He remained chairman for a decade with the extension of his tenures. In 1996, he was posted in the BISE Sukkur against the rules on deputation as Inspector of Schools in grade 18 and in 2009 made Secretary Board of BISE Sukkur with change of Cadre and out of promotion was later in 2011 posted as Chairman BISE Sukkur. In 2015, he completed his 60 years age and retired from service but after a month posted as Chairman BISE Sukkur on three-year contractual period.

Sources said that he was taking a pension along with salary of Chairman BISE Sukkur with allowances.

Sources further confided that in 2014 the then Secretary Boards and Universities Riaz Memon after investigating the record of Mujtaba Shah had declared his appointment illegal as well as his promotion and had written a letter to Chief Secretary Sindh for taking action. However, Sindh government, instead of taking action against him extended his tenure.
