Craving – A Poem from India

I am a song sung by gods

Some souls catch my rhythm

Some dance with me

And some do not at all understand me.

CRAVING

I am a song sung by gods

Some souls catch my rhythm

Some dance with me

And some do not at all understand me

My music was imbibed

By some souls who rhymed with me

While some soon felt tired

And left the marathon.

Some who were born to light

Heard the song

Smiled and joined the choir

And then, one fine day, turned silent

The soul of this song

Is thirsty

Looking for another soul

With equal formidabilities

Gods make songs in duets only

Sometimes some souls

Catch our rhythm,

And most of the times, we are left craving.
