INADEQUATE: TOO MUCH FOR GODS AND TOO LITTLE FOR MANKIND

Gods, it appears, are given to under weigh the breathless inputs by mankind. Gods keep their interference on a high level; even life granted to us is not adequate

Adam and Eve were punished for Knowledge, which they never had in adequate measure. The knowledge of what they were, and what they will be next, what will happen tomorrow – this was the real knowledge which was denied to them, and it was a foxy deal in which men appear to have lost too much, and gained too little.

When I think of how life measures us and how we measure it out, the results are never exact. Things are happening in a state of approximation. Suppose we want to do something, we start putting in efforts for that, and then, we wait for the result. Gods, it appears, are given to under weigh the breathless inputs by mankind. It would not be biting too much to say that they give us life, which is never something which could be considered as finally given to us and signed off. Gods keep their interference on a high level, so that I am constrained to say that even life granted to us is not adequate. We live just approximately, and if we go to the other extreme of life, and think of death, here too, there is nothing called cut off. Even after death, when we have lost our body, something of us keeps hanging and it is brought to another body, where, models are changed, and the spirit is imprisoned in another identity.

Too much for gods, and too little for man

And the worst part of it is, there is no Ombudsman. Human beings are very wise. The mega companies which are providing services to the people, know our rights. There can be mishaps. And, people might complain. So, they appoint an Ombudsman who listens to our complaints carefully and takes a decision. If our concerns are genuine, we are adequately compensated. But the world of gods has an entirely opposite mindset. They believe that whatever they have done is final, and no man need complain. There is no customer care specialists in divine deals. You can see people running to service centers, crying before idols, praying day and night, but do you think Gods listen to our prayers? If we do not understand in which language they talk, how can they understand our language?

Gulf of Distrust

So, there is a wide gulf between what they have done, and what we understand of it. And there is no third agency, in between, which can bridge the trust deficit. There are thousands of godmen, who make sure the distance between men and gods remain intact, and men remain praying and paying and rolling in ignorance. I sometimes wonder, why there is mathematical precision in what men do, they can make right calculations about weather, and even the movement of stars. Only when it comes to the orbiting lines on the hand of man, or on the forehead, do they create fuss. The Mystery remains mystery even when so much of the mystery has been pulled down.

A head of a family, in order to retain ultimate power in his hands, distributes his favours to the members or the family, but nobody knows what he thinks of them, and how much he hold in his vaults. For, this secrecy, is the secret of his power. Transparency is a good thing, but as a policy, it does not go far. Human languages, human actions, and human thought, – we leave much to be desired, and thus, every action just approximates the best, and it keeps men agitated.

If gods are not happy with men, and they always rue why men do not understand what they want, and falter in carrying out the brief with which they are sent to this earth, men too nourish an equal grievance against gods whose actions are like the deaf and the dumb. They never come clean. Their language is only the language of action and its reaction. We are just watching the reaction in this world, and this reaction has action done in the past times. What I had thought and said yesterday, I have no record of it. But what I did in my previous birth, how can I remember that? And gods had washed all my memory, I am told, by bathing me in the river of forgetfulness. Why can’t they forgive and forget everything? It is memory which disturbs a man to carry out his work properly. He is told he has a past, and gods never let him know what evil things he had done in the past, in whose reaction, gods have washed him of simple joys of being.

The Fruit of Knowledge

Gods had problem allowing man to eat the fruit of knowledge. This knowledge related to the knowledge of his being. Men have achieved layers and layers of knowledge, about the outside world, but all the knowledge of the civilization, which makes you a titan among mortals, does not match with a little knowledge which you don’t know. And this knowledge the gods have still not dispensed to men. The knowledge who man was, the knowledge what man will be tomorrow. How they play with human memory is also a divine preserve, out of human reach. Adam and Eve were punished for Knowledge, which they never had in adequate measure. The knowledge of what they were, and what they will be next, what will happen tomorrow – this was the real knowledge which was denied to them, and it was a foxy deal in which men appear to have lost too much, and gained too little.

As a result of this, we are always in a state of guessing. Two and two do not make four. A spade is not a spade. Light is not light. Darkness is not darkness. It is a strange world where identities remain confused and diffused into one another. It is a mystery no one has been able to resolve. It is a question whose answer has never leaked. We are just kept guessing. Things come to us far below our expectations. And we do not know how to solve the sums of life and death.

A Fair View of Gods

If we consider that gods are kind, and if we truly believe it, then, it can be presumed that the knowledge that was denied to man was because Gods wanted to keep the mystery intact. Otherwise, their power would have evaporated. Moreover, knowing too much could have destroyed man’s happiness. To live, we do not need the entire air, nor the entire water. We need them in small measures. In the same way, knowledge which was considered essential for our living was granted to us. And this explanation seems to be right also. Because, we have to believe that men may over weigh things, or under weigh them, gods deal the right measure to every person. The deal which appears to be foxy, appears foxy only to people who have no faith in gods and their sense of justice.
