Now that it’s much easier to access the internet, it’s becoming a common source for people to find anything with the help of various websites using a computer, tablet, and mobile phone. There is no doubt that many of the youngsters are spending much of their time using the internet, with both positive and negative ways and consequences. This is natural that everything we use has advantages and disadvantages, so does internet has.
One advantage of the internet is that the young students can search for their schoolwork on the internet, and they can find course-related material on various websites. This can help teenagers widen their knowledge by exploring new things on the internet and improve their grades. Another great positive advantage is that people can learn and practice foreign languages by chatting with people from other countries on the social media – for example on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This is a good way to keep in touch with friends and family around the world.
On the other hand, there are also negative ways and consequences. Some young children get addicted to playing online games on the internet and spend most of their time there. This means that they waste most of their time on the internet instead of focusing on their studies, which can have a negative impact on their studies. Losing their interest in studies can also be a negative impact of the internet. In addition, excessive internet use can mean that some young people hardly talk to their families because they are always on the computer. And the big disadvantage is their health issue, like weakness of eyesight from using the screen for 24 hours.
To sum up, spending the whole day on the internet and using social media will have a negative impact on young people, but it also has some positive impacts. Personally, I believe that the internet is such an incredible tool with some advantages and disadvantages. However, we should be careful not to use the internet excessively. We should strike a balance while using the internet.
