NGO distributes Eid clothes among transgender community of Dadu

300 Transgender persons are living in rented houses in different towns of Dadu district as their families have refused to own them – Faqeer Hamza

Ali Dadu Wala Foundation (ADF) Pakistan, a non-government organization, distributed clothes among transgender community of Dadu as the gifts on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, an Islamic festival, on Thursday.

ADF president Ali Jamali, Tariq Baloch, Niaz Chandio, Sajid Mastoi and other workers of ADF-Pakistan distributed clothes among transgender persons.

Dadu-Transgender-Sindh-Courier-1Ali Jamali told that his organization has distributed clothes among one hundred transgender so that they can celebrate Eid happily like other people. He added that since four years, ADF is providing clothes and other items to transgender community.

He said that ADF would raise transgender community’s issues at international organizations.

Faqeer Hamza, president of Dadu district transgender community, thanked ADF for providing them clothes.

Dadu-Transgender-Sindh-Courier-2Faqeer Hamza said that he has made complaints to elected MNAs and MPAs for their basic fundamental rights but no one is ready to redress their grievances.

He said that more than 300 transgender persons are living in Dadu, Johi, KN Shah and Mehar towns without shelter because their family members are not accepting them. “Because of such attitude, transgender persons are living in private rented houses,” he said.

“It is unfortunate that our parents do not show us as the member of family in NADRA’s B form,” he said.

Dadu-Transgender-Sindh-Courier-3He said, “In KPK, Punjab and Balochistan province, transgender persons are identified in Computerized National Identity Card but in Sindh province we are deprived of our identity as transgender.”

Faqeer Hamza said that in KPK, Punjab and Balochistan transgender are receiving health care facilities, education and other fundamental facilities but in Sindh we are deprived of fundamental rights.

He said that due to injustice in Sindh, many transgender persons have migrated to KPK, Punjab and Balochistan and they have showed them as Punjabi, Balochi and Pathan and have got CNICs of that province.

He demanded Sindh government to resolve transgender problems and provide fundamental rights.
