May 9 has been declared as Black Day – Shazia Marri

The nation believes that those who commit such mischief must be dealt with iron hands, otherwise these acts may become a routine – press conference

Karachi, Sindh

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation & Social Security and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Shazia Atta Marri and Sindh Government’s Spokesperson and Law Adviser Sindh Barrister Murtaza Wahab have said that May 9 has been declared as Black Day.

“On May 9, a group of miscreants created lawlessness, destroyed the public property and the installations of sensitive institutions. They should be taken to task so that no such heinous act can be repeated in the future,” they said while addressing a joint press conference in Sindh Assembly Committee Room on Wednesday.

Shazia Atta Marri said that it was a painful day when such vandalism was seen against our state institutions. “The nation believes that those who commit such mischief must be dealt with iron hands, otherwise these acts may become a routine.”

“People, civilians and military forces of Pakistan have always rendered sacrifices for peace. The media have videos how a person provoked the people. This person kept sending messages to play havoc. He messaged people to destroy and devastate. This person kept misleading people. He has been threatening that if something wrong happens to him, there will be dire consequences,” they lamented.

“If Imran Niazi thinks we will remain silent on his harming of Pakistan, he is wrong. No, we are Pakistani first, and then we are part of a political party,” they said.

Federal Minister further said that we will not let the country be destroyed because of Imran Niazi’s ego. “Imran Niazi has adopted an undemocratic attitude. May 9 brutality was done with pre-planned strategy.”

She said that Imran Khan should know that there is a difference between jihad and riot. “What you are doing is nothing but riot. The memorial of the martyred soldiers who made sacrifices was demolished. Is this not a riot? We value our martyrs and strongly condemn the attack on Jinnah House and other sensitive places.”

Shazia Marri said that terror and mischief mongers need to be brought to book.

She said we still are broad-hearted because it’s a matter of survival of Pakistan. “We want IK to play his role and contribute his part in the dialogue. A person can be reformed at any time. We are just offering him an opportunity to correct himself. What he harmed to the country can’t easily be pardoned. If the PTI wants to do politics it should shun terrorism and be part of the political process.”

Barrister Murtaza Wahab also said that what happened at the instigation of Imran Khan was not a protest, it was a terrorism. He further said that a person who is not sincere to himself how he will be sincere to 22 crore people. (PR)
