Paradox Me – A Poem from Islamabad

I am too deep, yet too shallow.
Too serious, yet almost non-serious.
Jawad Khan is student of English literature at International Islamic university Islamabad.
Paradox Me
I am too deep, yet too shallow.
Too serious, yet almost non-serious.
Too kind, yet too cruel—
Cruel to myself, kind to others.
I am fire, I am water.
Flooded with thoughts,
Droughted by actions.
Brave in dreams,
Coward in deeds.
I am a lion,
I am a mouse.
I crave the crowd,
Yet feel whole in solitude.
I am an extrovert,
I am an introvert.
I seek the happiness of others,
Sometimes at the cost of my own joy.
Yet, I do not know my true nature.
Perhaps it never intended to be known.
I am paradox in essence,
Forever both and neither.
