Young Labor Federation (YLF) organized on Thursday a huge rally against sky-rocketing prices and violation of labor laws at factories. Rally started from Murtaza Chowrangi and ended at Godown Chowrangi Korangi industrial area road.

The workers chanted slogans “Go Imran go”, “Go selected go”, “Give workers what they want” and other slogans against the inflation.

YLF chairman Abdul Basit Jagirani led the rally. The rally was warmly welcomed with flowers at Singer, Bilal, Vita, Chamra Chowrangi and other places.

YLF chairman addressing protesters said that federal government led by Imran Khan has failed to fulfill promises made before election. He demanded that tax imposed on poor people should be transferred to rich people imposing super tax on millionaires and billionaires.

“Every fortnightly increase in petroleum prices has weakened middle class and poor public, and the poor people are compelled to commit suicide due to poverty,” he said.

The protesting workers demanded that relief package must be announced on urgent basis.

Other leaders Arshad Khokhar, Maqbool Arain and Hamid Bhai while addressing the rally said that violation of labor laws, ILO conventions and GSP plus is at peak at factories.

Young Labor Federation leaders demanded that government should seriously take this matter as disputes at factories are on the increase day by day. “Labor inspection team should visit to implement laws fully at workplaces,” they urged.

They said that laws must be implemented as export has increased but no increase in salaries since COVID-19.
