Sindh Agriculture University seeks private sector’s help for its students

Committee, consisting of officials of University and progressive farmers, will initiate series of meetings with private sector companies.

The Endowment Fund Committee of Sindh Agriculture University, which met here Thursday with Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri in the chair, decided to create more scholarship facilities for deserving and meritorious students of the university.

The teachers and heads of various departments and progressive farmers attended the meeting and decided to approach the sugar industry, agro-based industries and alumnae for scholarships and financial assistance for deserving and meritorious students.

The meeting also decided to organize a get-together event and festival for university’s alumnae to give a chance to them to serve their institution. The meetings will also be scheduled with Sugar Industries, Seed, Fertilizer Companies, Dairy, Pesticide, Food, Agro-based Industries, Processing Plants, Livestock and Chamber of Commerce for financial assistance in providing scholarships.

A series of meetings will be initiated to help the poor students of the institution in scholarship and endowment fund and in this regard it was decided to form a committee consisting of progressive farmers with the faculty and administration of the university.

Dr. Fateh Marri said that Sindh Agriculture University was providing higher education facilities to the poor students of the province and everyone should play their role to help the deserving students.

He said that financially stable personalities can also start scholarships named after themselves or their parents.

Former Professor and Consultant Dr. Kazi Suleman Memon, Dean Dr. Aijaz Ahmed Khoonharo, Academic Advisor to Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdullah G. Arijo, Director Finance Anil Kumar, Registrar Ghulam Mohiyuddin Qureshi, Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Hassan Shah, Dr. Aijaz Soomro and Dr. Zulfiqar Yousfani of Sindh Aabadgar Board and Nabi Bux Sathio of Chamber of Agriculture participated.
