University organizes a consultative workshop with stakeholders on launching of new degree courses.

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) has decided to introduce new degree programs in Fisheries and Aquaculture, Dairy Technology, and Poultry Science.
In this regard, a consultative workshop on launching new degree courses was held in the committee room of the university, chaired by Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor SAU. The workshop was attended by experts from various fields including relevant departments of the Sindh government, educationists, national consultants, industrialists, and progressive farmers.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that for the development of the farming community of Sindh, Agriculture University is working on various projects with various stakeholders, including education, research departments, the government of Sindh, and the private sector, and new degree courses in fisheries and aquaculture, dairy technology and poultry science are being launched to meet market demand.
He said the suggestions of all stakeholders are being valued in this regard, and added that degree courses will be further improved keeping in view the recommendations received from the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Syed Ghiyasuddin Shah Rashdi, Dean, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, said that the faculty is already providing quality education to students in the field of Veterinary Sciences and taking advantage of this, plans to launch more new degree programs, improving existing infrastructure, including classrooms and laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Workshop participants recommended the expansion of experimental stations such as hatcheries, feed processing units, and health management units for further improvement of degree courses.
Prof. Dr. Naeem Tariq Narejo, Prof. Dr. M. Younis Laghari from the University of Sindh, R.S.N. Janjua, a National consultant of Aquaculture by FAO, Dr. Bakhshal Channa, Dr. M. Hanif Chandio and Ghulam Rasool Qambrani from Fisheries department government of Sindh; Mr. Nadeem Monnoo and Mr. Muhammad Aqil Solangi from the private sector participated in the workshop. (PR)
