Such labs would also be established in other universities of the province – DG, SFA

Sindh Food Authority (SFA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Food Science and Technology Department of Karachi University on Friday.

The MoU was signed to work together to improve food quality and to give access to SFA officials to get food samples checked in food laboratory of Karachi University.

It is pertinent to mention here that equipment for the lab were given to SFA by Nutritional International and SFA handed them over to Food Science and Technology Department.

Speaking on this occasion, Director General, Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhar Hussain said that SFA is closely working with all the stakeholders to improve food quality in the province.

Agha Fakhar Hussain hoped that the lab would be state of art and its establishment would help SFA to ensure better food quality.

He said that in the first phase the laboratory was going to be established in Karachi and in the next phase such labs would be established in other universities of the province.

DG SFA also thanked Nutritional International and Administration of Food Science and technology department of K.U for cooperating with Sindh Food Authority.

On this occasion Director Technical SFA Ahmed Ali, and head of the department of Food science and technology of Karachi University Dr. Shahina Naz, Provincial Manager N.I Moin Qureshi and other officers were also present. (PR)
