Sindh Home Department, in its orders to District Jail Superintendents of Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Badin, Jacobabad and Naushehro Feroze, has asked to release these persons if they are not required in other cases

Sindh Home Department has ordered release of 14 persons, hailing from different districts of Karachi, who were detained under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

These persons were rounded up under MPO for disturbing the peace, inciting the people for staging sit-ins and blocking the roads.

A review committee, headed by Home Secretary Syed Aijaz Ali Shah, had received 20 applications, of which orders were issued separately for the release of 14 persons. The review committee consisted of Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Range, Additional Secretary (Judicial) Home Department, and Registrar Anti-Terrorist Court, Home Department.

The persons to be released are Syed Farukh Shah, Salman Muhammadi, Waqas, Zaid Hussain, Asif Kamran, Muhammad Usman, Ahmed, Munsif Ali, Abdul Basit, Kamaluddin, Muhammad Faisal, M. Farooque, Moana and Fauzia Siddiqui.

Sindh Home Department, in its orders to District Jail Superintendents of Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Badin, Jacobabad and Naushehro Feroze, has asked to release these persons if they are not required in other cases.

These persons were arrested in connection with May 9 incidents of violence in Karachi.
