The so-called ‘Influential Persons’ are none but those who are responsible for the devastation in Sindh
Naveed Manzar’s poem titled ‘Slavery’ is an artistic-piece of resistance literature/ expression. The poet has addressed to people (selfie-seekers and posers), who even after this man-made devastation in Sindh still love to be photographed with the power (Ministers, MNAs, MPAs, DCs, Criminals, and Khakis). Sadly, the majority of them hail from pen-pusher groups – writers, columnists, claimant-social activists and patrons/ old guards of various clubs/associations and interest groups
SLAVERY
A slave,
…eats
…drinks
…sees
…hears
…knows
…speaks
And accepts slavery
He couldn’t imagine a life without it
A slave,
…believes…
…“Heavens” decide who should be ‘have’ and ‘haven’t’…
A salve,
…strange creature…
…if resolves…
…then kills even his own brother…
But…
… Proud to be photographed with the enemy…
