It’s not a Joke but a fact that three officers were transferred from the post of Taluka Education Officer (Primary) Khairpur within seven days.

Secretary Education Sindh Akbar Leghari had posted Kazim Burdi as TEO Primary Khairpur but just after two days he was replaced by Sultan Maitlo.

Interestingly, when Sultan Maitlo was being greeted by his colleagues and office staff, he was shocked to receive intimation of cancelation of his order and posting of Allah Bachayo Khaskheli as TEO Primary Khairpur in his place.

Educationists and Civil Society of Khairpur are surprised on frequent transfers of TEOs.

This Scribe tried to get version of Secretary Education but he did not pick the phone nor responded to text message on his number.

Sources in education department confided that the lucrative posts in the department are auctioned like the bids are invited for the any contract of work.

Sources said that such bid are managed by the political houses of Khairpur to get their favorite posts against bribe and names are recommended for a good postings to secretaries with a message to get it done.

Sources alleged that two political houses in Khairpur district – Jillani House and Wassan House were involved in getting posted the officers of their choice like Deputy Commissioner, SSP, Medical Superintendents, Vice Chancellors, Principal in teaching hospitals and colleges, District Health Officer, District Education Officer and other to show their influence.

Sources further revealed that for getting a post, aspiring candidates also grease the palms of officers and staff at Secretary’s office.

The educationists and the representatives of the Civil Society opined that this kind of nepotisms and favoritism was a major cause of downfall of the education system in Sindh which was deteriorating day by day. They opined that there was lack of merit-based postings of the officers in education department.
