Following the orders of First Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Dadu, the A-Section Police have registered FIR under Cr. P.C. 157 against the District Food Controller (DFC) for allegedly selling government wheat to the traders of Karachi.

In the FIR No:10/2023 registered on Thursday January 12, 2023, complainant Aftab Ahmed son of Ghulam Muhammad Jamali, resident of Mastoi Mohalla, Dadu, alleged that DFC Shahzad Shahani had allegedly sold government wheat in connivance of local traders and flour mill owners which has caused hike in price of wheat flour in Dadu.

The complainant also alleged involvement of Deputy Commissioner Dadu in supply the wheat from quota of Dadu to Karachi millers.

He alleged in FIR that owing to illegal sell of wheat from Dadu to Karachi, wheat flour per kg has reached Rs.130 per kg in Dadu. He further stated that owing to artificial shortage of wheat flour in Dadu, poor people are facing great hardships.

Complainant Aftab Ahmed, who claimed to be a social worker, further stated that on December 28, 2022, accompanied by one Sajad son of Muhammad Khan Lakho, resident of Mazdoorabad, he visited the DFC and requested in writing for providing the details of the Chakis and flour mills of Dadu but he instead threatened of dire consequences.

Aftab Ahmed Jamali stated that he had filed application in court of District and Session Judge Dadu and 1st additional session judge Nadeem Badar Qazi, who directed police as per order number 125/2023 dated January 12, 2023 to record statement of applicant and lodge FIR as per law.

Meanwhile, DFC Shahzad Shahani told this reporter that we released the government wheat to Chaki and flour mill owners through bank deposit. DFC said that government wheat selling allegation against him were fake. “The wheat flour price has increased across the country. It is not the matter of Dadu district alone,” he said.

DFC said that applicant Aftab Ahmed and his FIR witness Sajad Lakho were allegedly demanding extortion money and due to refusal, they lodged FIR under fake allegation against him. DFC said that he would prove in court of justice.
