In Pakistan, wherever you go, probably will find countless youngsters, and if you figure out their destination, will see everyone has the same mindsets – undoubtedly that would be CSS. Before going to hit the bell, let’s see what exactly CSS is? Then will move for reasons that why people follow only one direction instead of having thousands of other resources to furbish their future.

Only 2% can pass the exam and 98% students do not qualify

Factually, the CSS (central superior services) is a competitive exam which is conducted by Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) every year and after qualifying the exam, aspirants are allocated in a various fields in 17th Basic Pay Scale. Hundreds of thousands of the students attempt the exam looking forward to see their evergreen future under race of this exam. Statistical analysis is very regretful because only 2% can pass the exam and 98% student cannot qualify. Despite huge margin, they only flow in one direction and keep moving on same route.

Origin of Superior Service

If we look at the origin of this thinking, actually, it was colonial thinking when the world underwent British imperialism all over the world. After the war of independence 1857, they changed the whole system and introduced the ICS (Indian civil services) exam and that exam used to conduct in London by the British government. White men introduced that exam only for their own power, respect, status, and influence on the subcontinent’s inferior people. Almost all officers were British and through that exam they had all those powers. Those officers whatever they think, could do through those powers. Therefore, from that time to the existing era, people are obsessed with attempting this exam.

There are many reasons that people are crazy to do CSS

There are many reasons that people are crazy to do CSS (in Pakistan) and UPSC (in India). Now come to the impediments that why aspirants do not choose their own passions. First, they have borrowed dreams because they follow their parents, colleagues, and society, not their own natural talent. So, that’s why they attempt the exam. Second, they do whatever society is doing. For instance, if they qualify the exam, they will have more honor and status in our society. Third, that is financial security: if they do CSS they will be financially acceptable, have protocol in excess amount because people of our society give more priority to their lives, and become pessimistic. They do not focus on their self-worth through which they can fill different colors to map their future. Last but not the least: lack of career counseling which matters a lot because they do not know the world has achieved through modern technology and scientific discoveries.

Apart from the above reasons, there are numerous other reasons to attempt the exam because CSS officers are more stabilized and their lifestyles are unique. That’s why everybody wants to do CSS. In contrast of this, world is moving in scintillating directions in which students are taking interest: robot science, artificial intelligence, online marketing, and the world of business, freelancing world, and remarkable innovations. Science made tremendous progress in today’s era, but unfortunately Pakistani majority of the students want to pursue their career in only one direction that’s great but try to look at out of traditional thinking, they should be flexible with time. They should focus on self-actualization that is something which diverts them toward free will which supreme lord gifted to them.
