Participation of women in politics has given positive results – NGO organizes awareness session in Gambat

The Sukaar Development Foundation Sindh with the cooperation of Goth Seengar Foundation and some other NGOs arranged a session on Importance of women’s role in mainstream politics, at Government High School, Pir Essa Taluka Gambat in Khairpur on Saturday.
Ali Dost Ujjan, President of Sukaar explained about the objective of the session. Talib Hussain Ujjan, Chairman, Union Council, Kamaldero, Nazir Ahmed Khuhro, Councilor, Ms. Tehmina, Monitoring Officer, Education Department Khairpur Ayaz Khohro, Syed Sajjad Shah, Manager HANDS in Education were the speakers of the program.
Salma Shaikh, the Resource Person highlighted the importance of women’s role in Pakistan’s politics.
She emphasized that the women should play an active role in politics and said that participation of women in politics has proved positive results in the development and welfare of the country.
Salma said that in the local bodies’ election women not only contested for the office of chairman, but also as general councilor to represent their people.
According to her, the women empowerment also lies in the maximum participation of the women in main stream politics.
Javed Hussain Odhano, Program Officer, GSF briefed the participants about the Goth Seengar Foundation, Trust for Democracy and Accountability and Free and fair Election Network, who in the local bodies election had organized many motivational seminars.
