Tharparkar Social Organization held a ceremony local Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center on Sunday May 8 to mark the World Thalassemia Day.
The ceremony was attended by 52 children of Tharparkar suffering from Thalassemia, besides Additional Deputy Commissioner-1 Ms. Sara Javed, Engineer Gianchand, Kirshan Sharma, Mama Vishan Thari and others.
The theme of the World Thalassemia Day was “Be Aware. Share. Care: Working with the global community as one to improve Thalassemia knowledge.’’
ADC Sara Javed and others distributed the gifts among the ailing children. Speaking on this occasion Sara Javed and Engineer Gianchand highlighted the importance of the day and lauded the services of Vishan Thari who had established the Center without government support and is providing the blood to 52 children of the district.
Vishan Thari said that his center is the only center in the entire district and added that the 52 Thalassemia patients get the free blood at this center.
