Tando Jam: Some 177 students of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam received on Thursday the scholarship cheques under the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program.

Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor, distributed the cheques among deserving and eligible students at a ceremony held at the Senate Hall of Sindh Agricultural University.

“It would be a great tragedy if a poor student could not pursue higher education due to non-payment of fees, therefore the scholarship is more important than issuing a normal stipend or health card,” he said addressing the ceremony.

Dr. Fateh Marri said that it is an important scholarship for a student to pursue higher studies. “It is not necessary that the poor families to remain poor from generation to generation.”

“To change the lifestyle of their families, their young people should be given educational opportunities. There are opportunities of scholarships for continuing the education of working students,” he said.

According to him, the Ehsaas Scholarship is the largest scholarship program in the history of the country through which 50,000 students are meeting their educational expenses. “It will encourage poor students,” he added.

He further said that the reputation of the university depends on the ability and hard work of the students so they should not target themselves and their institution on social media.
