Mirpur Khas: The 63rd annual Flower and Vegetable Festival was organized here at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park on Sunday displaying variety of flower plants by the different government departments, institutions and the citizens.

Such a beautiful event, which spread the fragrance all around, had changed the entire atmosphere and attracted a lot of people to visit the flower show.

63rd Annual Flower Show held in Mirpurkhas - Sindh Courier-163rd Annual Flower Show held in Mirpurkhas - Sindh Courier-5At the end of event, a prize distribution ceremony was held, attended by former District Council Chairman Mir Anwar Ali Talpur, Deputy Commissioner Salamat Ali Memon, SSP Mirpur Khas Faisal Bashir Memon, Additional Deputy Commissioner-1 Muhammad Hassan Khaskheli, ADC-2 Salim Shaikh, Assistant Commissioner and Administrator Municipal Committee Shahida Parveen Jamro, Coordinator Karim Memon and several other officials.

Addressing the ceremony, Mir Anwar Talpur praised the district administration for holding such beautiful entertaining event that would leave a healthy impact on the citizens after a year-long panicky atmosphere caused by coronavirus. “It’s delighting to note the smile on the faces of citizens.”

Prizes were also distributed among the winners of different categories. For the Stall Category, Pak Green Foundation received first prize of a shield and Rs.15000/-; second prize of a shield and Rs.12000/- went to Mirpur Khas Sugar Mills while Sindh Horticulture Society received third prize of Rs.10000/- with a shield.

In government houses contest, Commissioner House was declared first, DIG House second, SSP House third and Deputy Commissioner House fourth position.

The private houses’ contest were also held and according to results Mansoor Cheema House, Mirpur Khas Sugar Mill House and Choadhry Farooq House clinched first, second and third position respectively.

Shields were also given to private houses including Jeelani House, Muzamil Jan Sarhandi House, Umar Bughio House; stall participants Director Agriculture Extension Satramdas, Director Horticulture, Director School Education, Medical Colleges and Judges.

Ms. Mariam Zahid Ali was also awarded with a shield for displaying the beautiful paintings at her stall.

Sufi Fakir Bhagat Bhura Lal mesmerized the audience at the end with his sufi songs.
