I can draw a picture of light sitting in dark – A Poem from Bengal
Suhina Biswasmajumdar, a poet based in Kolkata shares her latest poem.

Sitting in dark I paint a scene of light, as the pain of a bride melts into the cry of her new born, I create a world of hope.
I can draw a picture of light sitting in dark
Sitting in dark I paint a scene of light
As the pain of a bride melts into the cry of her new born,
I create a world of hope
With my scepter to bring truth spread love shower notes of moon
Who cares that not of Sonata?
Who cares if I bring the barren dunes of the desert in my canvas?
Who cares if I demand greenery for the hungry world?
I do nothing
Want nothing
Only waiting in the dark of my heart I bleed
I breed the seeds of hope
That I paint
I know,
I know how to dream within a nightmare
I know how to love the brutal disbelievers
I know how to enjoy a peacock-song
I know I can draw a picture of light sitting in dark
