International aid to Afghanistan’s development has been suspended since the Taliban movement came to power in Afghanistan

Afghanistan is making efforts to resume practical work on major transit and energy projects between Central Asia and South Asia through Afghanistan, stated the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Afghan government, Orient.tm reports.
As noted, the projects in question include CASA-1000, the TAP (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan) power transmission line, the TAPI pipeline, and the energy project Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TUTAP), according to a statement by TOLOnews.
Earlier, a representative from the Afghan Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Matiullah Abid, stated that CASA-1000 and TAP are crucial economic projects in the energy sector.
“The CASA-1000 project, which starts from Kyrgyzstan and passes through Tajikistan, then Afghanistan and Pakistan, delivers electricity. This is one of the important projects. A major portion of the work on it has been done in Afghanistan, which can receive 300 megawatts of electricity from it,” emphasized Abid.
The former head of Afghanistan’s energy company DABS stated that 60% of the work on CASA-1000 has been completed. “Regarding the regional projects of TAP, TUTAP, CASA, and the TAPI pipeline, I must say that these projects contribute differently. The majority of the electricity needs will be met,” added Amanullah Galib, former head of DABS.
However, international aid to Afghanistan’s development has been suspended since the “Taliban” movement came to power in Afghanistan, TOLOnews notes amidst these statements.
