Anti-Encroachment Drive in Hyderabad Begins Today

Nine city roads of Hyderabad will be cleared in the first phase of Anti-Encroachment Drive

Following the directives of Sindh government, the District Administration has planned to initiate anti-encroachment drive in Hyderabad city and its first phase will begin on February 12, 2025 (Today).

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Zain-ul-Abedin Memon, chaired a meeting on February 11 regarding the Anti-Encroachment Drive in District Hyderabad. The meeting was convened on the directives of Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah.

Deputy Commissioner instructed all the officials to maintain close coordination and ensure the removal of encroachments as per government directives. He emphasized that in the first phase of the operation, the following roads will be cleared: Jamshoro Road, Wadhu Wah Road, Latifabad Unit 8 & 9, Station Road to Makki Shah Road, St. Mary’s Station Road to Makki Shah Road, Risala Road, Qasim Chowk to Citizen Colony Road, Citizen Colony Road, and Naseem Nagar road.

DC Hyderabad urged the civil society, business community, and the general public to cooperate with the administration in this initiative. He further warned that legal action would be taken against individuals involved in encroachments.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad, Zahoor Lakhan; SP Traffic; Secretary RTA Saleem Memon, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Ms. Saba; Focal Person Traffic Javed Iqbal, all respective Taluka Assistant Commissioners; all DSPs; all TMCs; Anti-Encroachment In-charge, Ms. Rasheeda Bano; AD Anti-Encroachment Qasimabad; SHO AEF Hyderabad, Sanaullah Talpur; and all Anti-Encroachment In-charges of Town Municipal Corporations, along with DSPs of Traffic.

The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow and reclaiming public spaces for the benefit of citizens. He stressed that any soft or hard encroachments found on-site would be removed immediately. Pushcarts and other encroached materials would be confiscated on the spot.

DC Hyderabad announced that parks, seating areas, and beautification projects would be initiated in areas where encroachments are removed. He emphasized the need for all civil society organizations and other groups to support the administration’s efforts rather than aiding encroachers.
