Injured persons will be paid Rs.100000/-; Committee also approved compensation for the persons who lost their lives in other incidents

Sindh Non-Muslim Welfare Committee, which met here Thursday with Giyanchand Esrani, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, sanctioned a compensation of Rs.0.5 million for each of the heirs of those who lost the lives during lightning near Mithi in Tharparkar district.
The Committee also approved Rs.100000/- each for the injured of this incident.
Moreover, Rs.0.5 million compensation will be paid to the heirs of Roshan and Karan, son of, Puran Lal, who died while cleaning a manhole near Port Qasim in Karachi.
The committee also approved a grant for the heirs of a 12-year boy of Matiari, who was sexually assaulted and murdered.
The Committee, constituted in 2013, also reviewed various development schemes, scholarships and financial assistance of the people hailing from minority communities.
Secretary, Minority Affairs Department, Shariq Ahmed, Director Mahesh Dodani, Executive Engineer Sanjay Raja and other officers attended the meeting. (PR)
