Dispensaries and Basic Health Units in different Union Councils of Khairpur district are not functioning since 5 to 6 years

Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Sukkur has summoned Secretary Health, Director General Health, Government of Sindh and others on April 12 to submit their answer regarding the non-operation of the dispensaries and Basic Health Units (BHUs).

Notices were issued on a constitutional petition filed by Lawyer Waqar Phulpoto, in which he maintained that health department government of Sindh established dispensaries, Basic Health Units in the different Union Councils of Khairpur including a dispensary at Village Jhaloogi in Union Council Mehar Ali which since 5 to 6 years was not operational.

He, in his petition, maintained that established dispensaries turned in to Cattle Pens by the area people and despite the requests to health officials and district administration they have not been made operational yet, while the innocent people of the vicinity are lacking facilities of the treatment.

On his petition the court summoned Secretary Health, DG health Sindh, Manager PPHI Khairpur and others on 12 April to submit their reply on the filed petition.
