I am now lost between the

Twin worlds of good and evil

God knew if I became too good

All his multi-story structures

Of Evil will become redundant.

God never had an idea

I would prove so boring

God too was after all

A human being

In search of thrills.

That is why he created Satan

And so many dragon heads

Do we like a film

In which there are no

Villains?

I was too good for Him.

Day and night

He waited for me

To do some mischief

So that he could release

His imps to take care of me

I was always praying

Always doing good

Ever righteous

For ever

A dutiful son

Never willing to disobey him

At last God sent me a missive

Which said,

God is bored with you

And will throw you

Straight in hell fire

If you stuck to goodness

I was taken aback.

Will my God desert me?

Simply because I was too good?

Don’t people desert you

When they find you too good?

I am now lost between the

Twin worlds of good and evil

God knew if I became too good

All his multi-story structures

Of Evil will become redundant.

Satan has bribed God

With a few million dollars

To discourage people like me

From doing good and only good

Here I stand deserted by my God!

There are moments when I feel

I am substance

But there are times

When I find myself reduced to a shadow

There is a wide gulf

Between what I plan to do

And what is finally done

Which I find beyond my powers

To crave for an object

Is your personal empire

But how the object reacts

Is not in your power.

An invisible hand monitors

Ours wishes

And reduces substance

To a shadow by the evening

Our power extends to the moment

We perform an action,

Beyond that lies the domain

Of the forces beyond our control

Human actions

Are only half conceived

And remain inconclusive

Till the forces of fate finally deliver.
