Allahobhayo Dal, an eminent poet from Sindh province of Pakistan, shares his poem
Eminent poet Allahobhayo Dal was born on December 16, 1977 at Khipro, District Sanghar in Sindh Province of Pakistan. He started writing fairytales in his mother tongue “Sindhi language” since his boyhood, and published in the different newspapers, literary magazines in 1990s. Now he is familiar as a vibrant poet, author and writer. He received more than hundred appreciation, participation certificates so far on his literary work from across the globe. More than 300 of his poems and short stories have been published in the global literary magazines, newspapers as well as in number of anthologies over the world.
Quest for Peace
I long for wings to carry me far,
To rise above mountains, rivers, and seas,
To drift over meadows and jungles,
Where the whispers of nature cradle the soul.
I give thanks to each creature, a part of the great symphony of life.
I reach for the birds, gliding freely through the air, their flight a song of freedom.
I would ask them, what secrets do the skies hold?
Where is the gentlest place to land?
Where does peace dwell, and where does harmony reign?
Have you flown where the guns thunder and smoke stains the heavens?
Have you seen the faces of the forsaken, the mothers whose tears fall like rain, grieving in silence?
Surely, you’ve passed the hearts still pure, untouched by this world’s cruelty—tell me, where do they belong?
Show me the place where love is the law, where brotherhood blooms without shame or fear.
I am weary, my soul burdened, and I seek only a small corner of peace.
Let me land where care is a currency, where love is not withheld, where I may finally rest.
