west-bengal-1TECHNOLOGY OF FATE

Highest mountain peak or deepest water body, mother’s love or father’s attention

Subjects to the rule of the omnipotent dictator! No, it’s not a nightmare.

Mechanics or Technology, by which name shall I call you?

What power the emperor has over everything and all!

Omnipresence dared to be crossed only by Queen Variety. Yes, this is our world.

Multifariousness, colors fall short to mark thy distinctive figures

The discovered and undiscovered stars of galaxy, the visible and invisible bodies,

Does one parallel the other in appearance and matter?

Physique, nature, taste, manner,

Earthlings different from each other,

Unlike the demon of situations who refrains from changes; a perennial truth

Weirdest reality friend, Isn’t it?

Ha Man!

Caught in the same traps from time immemorial,

That have put their ancestors in trials.

Powerful are the demon’s machinery and the robotics, the chances and the coincidences, patternless,

Like amorphous cloud, powered by Fate,

Or shall I say Technology of Fate;

Old mousetraps for the developed genes!

The question is ‘were our forefathers were happier than us?’

Civilization or life, be cautious.

The powerful army of the twin emperors

Has started the long march.

Kneeling on their knees, the children pray,

Mother Variety, protect thou must,

The flowers of your garden, nonpareil.

  1. With a touch of granite in her poetic craft, Tamali Neogi negotiates human condition since times immemorial, and highlights the pristine purity that impels human urge for fulfilment vis-a-vis the contemporary scene, and how man continues to be pitted against the mechanism of a condition hostile to his persistent search for perennial happiness.
