Earlier, the NGO from Vusaib area had erected Tent Villages in three villages of Union Council Naseer Fakeer Jalalani of Kotdiji Taluka.

Following the completion of work of establishing Tent Villages for displaced families in three villages of Union Council Naseer Fakeer Jalalani, the Saiban Kissan Society, the Multan-based non-government organization, has focused on providing shelter and food to the flood-affected families of Meghwar Village in adjoining Union Council Talpur Wada of Taluka Kotdiji of Khairpur district.

Darawar-Tent-Village-Sindh-Courier-3Darawar-Tent-Village-Sindh-Courier-6“The village is located at the border of Thari Mirwah and has around 5000 population of Meghwar Community, and we, accompanied by Mr. Zaffar Iqbal, head of the Saiban Kissan Society, held meeting with the community on Monday, and also hosted lunch and dinner for them,” he said.

Darawar-Tent-Village-Sindh-Courier-13Darawar-Tent-Village-Sindh-Courier-15“All arrangements were almost finalized to erect Tent Village for Meghwar Community. Work had been started and some of the tents were erected so far to accommodate displaced families,” he added.

On Tuesday, the Saiban Kissan Society also arranged a medical camp for the ailing villagers while the provision of cooked food also continued. By the afternoon, some 600 female patients were examined and provided with free medicines. It is expected that till evening, similar number of male patients would be examined by the doctors.

One of the active volunteers is Ms. Babli Bai, who is married and had done intermediate, and is leading the local volunteers. It may also be mentioned that late Asma Jehangir had also visited this village.
