The well-decorated library hall has seating capacity of 22 people at a time. “We will soon launch membership process to attract more and more people to this newly established library,” she told.

Ms. Qandeel Fatima said that initially the library has 1200 plus books and all are donated by different people or collected through the efforts of volunteers. “With the passage of time, the number of books will grow further.”

To a query she said the staff of Tapedar office will be the caretaker of the library.

“It is an initiative to give a platform to everyone, particularly the students to explore the world of knowledge,” Qandeel Fatima said adding that public libraries       provide books and other materials for people to read as it’s not affordable for everyone to buy books and journals. “This is first ever Public Library in Tando Jam and I am sure it will inspire a large number of youths to get involved in healthy activities. Public Libraries have always seen as an educational resource for all people.”
