Besides increased patrolling, the force has been deployed at mosques, Imambargahs and open places of Eid prayers

Following the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Sukkur Range, Javed Sonharo Jaskani, strict measures have been taken to maintain law and order in Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur and Naushehro Feroze districts on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated today, Saturday April 22, 2023.

As per police sources, six Control Rooms have been set up to supervise the situation round the clock during the Eid holidays and around 4000 police personnel including 200 police women have been deployed at different places including mosques, Imambargahs and other places in cities and towns across the Sukkur Range. Moreover, patrolling has also been increased to ensure peace at prayer gatherings, public places and densely populated areas.

DIG Police had issued orders to all the SSPs of the range to maintain the atmosphere of law and order in the Sukkur Range and to protect the lives and property of the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The SSPs of Sukkur Range were asked to provide foolproof security to the main mosques, Imambargahs, Eidgahs and open places for Eid prayers in their respective districts.

Extraordinary security were also made at all public places including shopping centers, Eid bachat bazaars, railway stations, bus terminals etc.

The DIG had further directed for formation of surveillance teams at the police station level and to increase police presence in and around shopping centers, crowded public places, entertainment places and open places for Eid prayers.

The police were also directed to keep a close eye on suspicious persons and objects, and ensure close monitoring of the entrances and exit points of their respective districts.  As per security plan, Eid prayer gatherings, mosques, Imambargahs have been well covered in the patrolling routes.

Temporary checkpoints have also been set up at various places along with increased police patrolling on national highways to ensure safe travel of passengers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Patrolling ‘picking’ snap checking and advance intelligence collection was also the part of security plan.

The directives were also issued to deploy plainclothes police personnel to strengthen reinforcement and keep an eye on miscreants.

In view of increased flow of vehicular traffic, strong measures have been taken to maintain the flow of traffic during Eid al-Fitr.

DIG Sukkur had also directed all the SSPs to take immediate action against those who fired in the air in their respective districts after moon-sighting and also to create awareness to prevent the loss of precious lives.

Campaign has also been started to take strict action against those doing deadly one-wheeling.
