The 9th Shuhada-e-Sindh Police All Pakistan Occupation Karate Championship, organized here at Khairpur Gymkhana Club on Monday was won by players of Punjab. Sindh and Balochistan players clinched second and third position respectively.

Boys and girls Karate players from Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh participated in the championship.

In the final competitions supervised by referees and judges under the chairmanship of Pakistan Karate Association Chief Zahoor Hashmi, the Karate Cause team of Punjab won the first position, while Sindh Karate Cause won the second position and Balochistan got the third position.

Khairpur-Karate-Sindh Courier-1Owais, Ashfaq Ahmed, Ihsanullah, Ijaz Khan, Arsalan Rajput, Abdur Rehman, Sufyan, Noman, Muhammad Moiaz, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Tayyab, Shahryar, Waheed, Adnan Akram, Touheed Shah, Abrar Ahmed, Abdur Rehman, Naseebullah, Noor Fatima, Abrash, Hasan, Hussain and Numan were declared as best Karate performers.

The Karate Championship, organized by the Gymkhana Club with the support of Japan International Karate Association, was inaugurated by the Secretary Gymkhana Club Khan Muhammad and Black Belt-holder Abdul Rehman Phulpoto, with the by Gymkhana Club Khairpur.

Khairpur-Karate-Sindh Courier-2National Assembly Member Dr. Nafisa Shah, DIG Sukkur Javed Sonharo Jiskani, Colonel Umar Khattab, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Dr. Sharjeel Noor Channa, SSP Sukkur Sanghaar Malik, SSP Khairpur Mir Rohal Khan Khoso and other members of Civil Society attended the 9th Shuhada-e-Sindh Police Karate Championship and lit candles during candle light vigil to pay tribute to the martyrs of police.

MNA Dr. Nafeesa Shah Jillani gave a cash prize of Rs.5000 at the closing ceremony to the winning team. The prizes and trophies were distributed among karate champions.

Khairpur-Karate-Sindh Courier-3Commissioner Sukkur Division Ghulam Mustafa Phul, Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, SSP Khairpur Mir Ruhal Khan Khoso, and President of Anjuman Tajran Khairpur Lala Abdul Ghaffar Shaikh distributed prizes and trophies among those who performed well in the final competitions.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ibupoto praised the championship competitions, encouraged the players and announced that the next championship will be held at Shah Abdul Latif University.

Commissioner Sukkur Division Ghulam Mustafa Phul said that the youth of Sindh and Children have immense talent which needs to be further developed.

On this occasion shields and awards were given to the heirs of martyred police officers and personnel.
