ARE GODS DIM-WITTED?
I was born with a hundred deficiencies
And expected to depend
On a thousand things
Available outside to help me in living this life
And complete the cycle
And in the process,
Do something for the creation
To strengthen its infrastructure
So that the life giving resources
Are available to those
Who are subsequenting me.
Is it good to eat up everything yourself
And leave the place drained
Of all happiness and prosperity
For those who, after us,
Step on to this earth?
It was a great lesson in co-living
Not only in getting, but also in giving
Life was not possible otherwise
We get the sun light, the winds,
The moonlight, the waters from the gods
And after using them,
We are expected to return
These bounties with interest.
So many men are around, and animals too
And birds, who provide us help
With tasks we can’t do ourselves
And this is how God has created
A commonwealth in which we all invest
And withdraw whatever we need.
I cannot antagonize winds, nor the sunlight
Nor the people around me
Nor animals, nor birds
They are God’s emissaries
Who are standing on one leg
Offering me their unqualified help.
These are the people who love me
And support me in my being alive
I love them as I love my God
Who created me.
Do you think nature has no sense
Of business
And it just wastes itself
When it blooms flowers and
Sends butterflies and glow worms for my joy?
Is it a vain passion of nature?
Are gods dim-witted to love me
And shower their blessings on me?

HOPE
Hope is the best thing on earth for mankind.
Men always find solace in hope.
Hope indicates we wish
The celestial agencies to intervene
And reset the apple cart.
When we say hope for the best
It means gods will descend
And set the things right
Hope it appears is a passive command
So that the cosmic forces work in our favour.
I believe in the active version of hope,
For me, a wish is a stronger potion
Which involves your being
And it involves the cosmos as well
If you wish anything but strong enough
A wish involves a silent prayer
For things to change
And you do not let the entire job
To gods, who are happy when they see you
At work, involved in bricklaying.
