Mariam Magdy, a 27-year-old Egyptian woman, was found dead near a river in Switzerland, as announced in a press release by the police in the Swiss cantons of Schaffhausen and Zurich on Friday, 10 days after she was reported missing.

Ten days after her disappearance, the Swiss police finds the body of Maryam Magdy in a river in Switzerland and arrested her husband.

Maryam Magdy had gone missing after traveling to Switzerland to see her daughters, Fatima (8 years old) and Khadija (6 years old), and regain their custody from her husband Walid, a Swiss of Egyptian origin.

The couple had separated due to marital disputes arising from his mistreatment of her. They had agreed that the girls would remain in their mother’s custody. Disputes escalated over the custody of the girls, with the husband demanding the right to see his daughters. After the mother agreed to let the father visit the girls, he abducted them and traveled to Switzerland without the mother’s knowledge.

After suffering from extreme shock, Maryam Magdy traveled to Switzerland, to file a lawsuit against her husband to regain custody of her daughters. Unfortunately, she went missing at the beginning of February.

In the past few days, the incident has sparked widespread attention on social media platforms, prompting many to seek comprehensive details about her demise.

Social media posts by her friends and relatives, including Magdy’s brother, have confirmed that recent disagreements arose between her and her husband regarding the custody of the two daughters – 8-year-old Fatima and 6-year-old Khadija. Disputes have led to their separation, with Mariam seeking custody of the girls.

She has resorted to filing a lawsuit for their custody, resulting in a judicial ruling granting her custody of the girls and ordering the court to grant their father visitation rights.

Meanwhile, Magdy’s brother posted on his personal Facebook page on Saturday news of his sister’s death after her body was found in Switzerland 10 days after her disappearance.
