The Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor is to receive Congress of African Journalists Leadership and Achievers Award 2021 being held on October 8 this year in Abuja, Federal Capital of Nigeria.

Taylor, a Ranking Senator elected on the platform of National Patriotic Party to represent the people of Bong County in 2005 and 2014 was the first lady to former President of Liberia, Charles Taylor and the current Vice President to H.E Gorge Weah.

Taylor, according to political pundits ‘is one of the most powerful politicians in the country whose positive impacts on the people of Liberia continued to endear her to the populace.

She is a grassroots politician, strong advocate of good governance, multiparty democracy, and freedom of speech. She is a Campaigner for Human Rights and the Rule of Law who believes in Africa’s Unity and the continent’s economic progress.

“As a result of her more than 18 years of experience in both the private and public sectors; she, unlike most politicians of today, has the privilege to be able to cut across political, social and ethnic lines, and has friends and collaborators in all political establishments in Liberia.

“Vice President Chief Dr. Taylor remains a strong voice for change and progress in our Nation, and an icon for Liberian Women”

Taylor’s stupendous empowerment for women in Liberia through her Jewel Star Fish has impacted positively on the lives of the women.

In her letter of acceptance to the Congress of African Journalists (CAJ), the Liberia’s strong woman said she was humbled for the honor and would attend the event.

According to the organizers, the event would also feature investiture of patrons of the organization across Africa.
