Outside the window where dawn breaks anew,

A whispering wind scatters morning’s dew.

I pace the yard, my heart in yearning,

For memories of you, forever burning.

Morning trumpet flowers bloom in grace,

Their dew-kissed petals a soft embrace.

A melody flows, so tender, so true,

Fluttering dreams that dance in the blue.

In my heart’s teacup, white and pure,

Love’s fragrant essence does endure.

Since when, oh when, have you been the one,

My breathless longing under the sun?

A white baby’s breath speaks of desire,

Its dew-lit tears light passion’s fire.

Beneath the crescent moon’s silver hue,

I hold my breath in longing for you.

The ache of first love, unfulfilled,

A quiet yearning that time has stilled.
