Sindh LG Minister lays foundation stone of Johar Underpass

Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Shah laid the foundation stone of Rs.2 billion Johar underpass at Johar Chowrangi Karachi on Monday.
Nasir Shah said that the underpass will be completed in a short period of time for better traffic flow and travel facility. He said that one kilometer of this underpass project will cost Rs.2 billion.
Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab was also present.
Later, talking to media, Nasir Shah while responding to a question confirmed that his party PPP has contacted Jamat-e-Islami in connection with Mayoral election in Karachi.
“Definitely contact has been made with Jamat-e-Islami, but we have not made any contact with PTI,” Nasir Shah said and added that the mayor will be from Karachi and all the PPP workers are eligible for the mayor’s office.
He however said that PPP has not made yet any final decision with regard to its candidate for the mayor.
He said that Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman is much respected. “I have talked to him many times that the mayor will be from the party who has the majority votes.”
Criticizing the PTI and its leadership, Nasir Shah said they launched ‘Jail Bharo’ movement but are afraid of arrests and courts. “Even PTI leadership is hiding and today Imran Khan is seeking help from USA.”
To a question, Nasir Shah said that if those involved in terrorism are released on bail, it will raise questions about the courts. “We have respect for the judges of the Supreme Court, but questions must be raised on their recent decisions.”
Nasir Shah said that Pakistan Army is our institution and the things said against the Army Chief and ISI Chief are the same which India has been doing.
