Poet Mr. Zhang Zhi (张智), born in 1965 in Phoenix Town, Baxian County of Sichuan Province, is a prominent contemporary Chinese poet, critic, translator, and publisher. Holding a doctorate in literature, he currently serves as the editor-in-chief of the multilingual Rendition of International Poetry Quarterly, the editor-in-chief of the English edition of the World Poetry Yearbook, and an advisor to the Center for the Globalization of Chinese Poetry at Nankai University.
He has published seven poetry collections in various foreign languages and has translated eight poetry collections as well as a full-length novel. His literary works have been rendered into more than fifty languages, and he has received literary awards from over thirty countries.
장쯔(张智) 시인은 1965년 쓰촨성 바시엔(巴县) 현의 페닉스 타운에서 태어난 중국 현대의 중요한 시인이자 비평가, 번역가, 출판인이다. 그는 문학박사이며, 현재 다국어 시 계간지 「국제시가번역(國際詩歌飜譯, Rendition of International Poetry Quarterly)」의 편집장, 「세계시 연감(World Poetry Yearbook) 」 영어판 편집장, 난카이대학교 ‘국제시번역연구센터(国际诗歌翻译研究中心)’의 고문으로 활동하고 있다.
그는 외국어로 된 시집 7권을 출간했으며, 시집 8권과 장편소설 1편을 번역하였다. 그의 문학 작품은 50개 이상의 외국어로 번역되었고, 30여 개국에서 문학상을 받았다.

Delicate currents
Flow through your veins silently,
Stirring the pulsing,
Even cheering of life.
Indeed,
You have a metal heart,
Yet yearn
To seek
The faintest spark
Of human warmth
In the cold cosmos.

한 개의 심장이
너무 열정적이지 않은
강철의 가슴 속에서 뛴다.
섬세한 전류가
너의 혈관을 조용히 흐르며
고동을 흔들고,
삶의 원기를 북돋운다.
정말로,
너는 금속의 심장을 가졌지만,
차가운 우주 속에서
가장 희미한
인간의 온기를
찾고자 갈망한다.
