Where are you, O Moon?

The night is searching for you, where are you, O Moon?

On this sphere of the Earth, where are you, O Moon?

All alone in the lap of darkness,

My heart trembles and sinks, where are you, O Moon?

I feel so much fear, lest you have taken

A new path, my beloved; where are you, O Moon?

In my imagination are the enchanting scenes of your spell,

Along with this gathering of stars; where are you, O Moon?

All my ornaments have rusted, I haven’t even worn kohl,

Look at the patches on my bodice; where are you, O Moon?

Which path should we take in this desert of life?

You have left us wandering and lost; where are you, O Moon?

Thinking about life, he just kept on weeping,

With whom should he share his inner heart? Where are you, O Moon?

There is a ban on melodies and musical instruments, yet

The sparrow/papeeha bird still sings; where are you, O Moon?

Sindhi Version
