REPUGNANCE

Repugnance, you are the explosion of hysterical desolation

You transfigure faces when tears burst –

Death on the street –

Like a tank that pierces life

Which ingeniously recalls the eternal in the sign of peace,

But you are as accustomed to horror as mounds are to ashes –

Like the false ceiling’s to stars

Like the underpass’re accustomed to road –

And take the distance, but not the destination

From the murderous stain, from the cross and the flag

That bleeds for the concession of a merciless world

Unconscious,

You get angry, but you don’t demand,

You leave a flower rather than a beating heart

Until every corner burns.
