On September 17, 2022, in Baku, the capital of the sovereign state of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a presentation of the book “Street in Cairo” by the outstanding Arab poet from Egypt Ashraf Abu Al-Yazid (Ashraf Dali) will be held – in Russian translated by the honorary member of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia Eldar Akhadov.
The event will begin at 14.00 local time in “Russian House”, the building of the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku.
The event has been organized with the assistance of Irek Zinnurov, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Israfil Ismayilov, director of the Russian Book House in Baku, and with the support of Anar Rzayev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union.

Ashraf Aboul-Yazid is an Egyptian poet, novelist, and journalist. He is currently the president of Asia Journalist Association and the Editor-in-Chief, The Silk Road Literature Series. He worked in Cultural Journalism for 32 years. He has authored and translated 42 books. Some of his novels and poetry volumes have also been translated into English, Spanish, Turkish, Persian, Korean, Malayalam, Sindhi and German. He travelled across 35 countries for the last 2 decades
Eldar Akhadov is Azerbaijani and Russian poet, prose writer and literary researcher, co-chairman of the Literary Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, honorary member of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan, member of the Russian branch of the international PEN club, the Writers’ Union of Russia and the South Russian Writers’ Union (Ukraine), the Russian Geographical Society. He is author of 68 books.
