The week-long celebration of New Sindhi Year and Cheti Chand (Birthday of Jhulelal) by Sindhi community of Vadodara (Baroda) city of Gujarat state started with great enthusiasm on Friday April 5, 2024.
As part of the celebration, as per annual tradition, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Lahripura Sindhi Vyapari Parivar at Jhulelal Temple, Lahripura. This was the Silver Jubilee Blood Donation Camp, which was inaugurated by Manishlal Sain.
Record-breaking 1216 units of blood were collected at the day-long camp. Dada Rupchand Vaswani and his brother Mr. Shyam Vaswani were the key persons who organized the camp, which started at 10am and continued till 8pm. They have collected 15624 Blood Units in last 24 years.
On Saturday April 6 (Today) Varun Seva Trust has organized Program titled ‘Cheti Chand Jo Rang Jhulan Je Sang’ at Shreeji Party Plot. Various Sindhi cultural programs will be presented.
On Sunday April 7, a Bike Rally will be organized by Vadodara Sindhi Samaj. Approximately 2500 two-wheelers are expected to participate in Bike Rally.
On Monday April 8, Jai Mata Di Group will celebrate in Shagun Banquet Hall with Behrana Sahib and other Sindhi cultural dances.
Another event will be held on April 9, at Prem Prakash Dharam Tirth with cultural program and Aam Bhandara .
The North Baroda Sindhi Association and many other Sindhi organizations will celebrate Cheti Chand on Wednesday April 10. A Grand Procession (Sargas) will be taken out with participation of a large number of Sindhis. The sargas will start from Prem Prakash Dharam Tirth.
The Sindhi community celebrates Cheti Chand festival every year.

At the same time yesterday was an other traditional festival of SESAAUN , Almost forgotten annual day.
So far I know on this day we prepare some particular item fixed for each family member.
We celebrated with:
Doka khalel, mengo sayun patata green rice sanha pakora
Etc.
We Sindhi call this day as SESAUN .
It is like ANNAMATYO.
we change routine grains used daily.
