The two countries signed the agreement in December 2022; the demarcation process took 19-year to finish the task

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have fully completed the demarcation of the border, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov said, Tengrinews reports.
The agreement was signed on December 22, 2022 in Tashkent by the heads of the two states and ratified by the parliaments of both countries. The entry into force of this agreement means the full completion of the 19-year process of demarcation of the state border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Smadiyarov said.
The 2,357-kilometer border is marked with 1,301 border markers and reflected in one demarcation document of more than 8,000 pages, Smadiyarov added.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan approved a document on the demarcation of the border. The delegations discussed the issue in Samarkand.
