Everyone is trying to hold the Karachi hostage – Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister

Karachi, Sindh

Lashing out at the PTI for resorting to violence in the city, spokesperson of Sindh Government and Advisor for Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab said on Wednesday that everyone is trying to hold the Karachi hostage.

Addressing a press conference at Sindh assembly’s committee room, Murtaza Wahab said, “Terrorism cases are being registered against those who tortured the police officers and citizens, and torched public property.”

He said that a political party which calls itself the ‘party of change’, and its leader claims to be messenger of peace, resorted to violence. “The nation saw how they tried to make the entire nation a prisoner for the sake of one person’s arrogance.”

“In fact the PTI is the name of destruction, not of change. They only gave destruction in four years. Yesterday they tried to destroy it once again,” he remarked.

Showing the photos of torched vehicles, Murtaza said, these are public property and they have caused problems for the common man by setting these vehicles ablaze.

“With a great difficulty the politics of the strike was ended in this city.  Now they are trying to destroy the peace of Karachi. People’s Bus, which is used by common people, and they have vandalized these buses, forcibly removed the mothers and sisters from the buses, threw stones at them, and then the bus was set on fire,” he said.

Barrister Murtaza Wahab added that a van of the prisoners was also set on fire besides the empty outpost of the Rangers.

Sindh Information Minister’s Press Conference

Minister of Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon also addressed a press conference separately at the Archives Complex Clifton said that yesterday everyone witnessed the opposition leader of PTI in the Sindh Assembly walking on the road, with a cloth covering his face and carrying a baton in his hand.

“Peaceful protest is everyone’s right, and the government will provide fields and facilities for peaceful protest, but strict action will be taken against those who block roads and commit arson,” he said and warned that if someone takes the law into their hands, the government will take strict action according to the law.

“Yesterday, PTI burned water board vehicles, burnt the buses of the People’s Bus Service, and destroyed the travel facility of thousands of citizens,” Sharjeel said.

“Remember that these buses belong to the citizens of Karachi; they are not the property of Al-Qadir Trust. What harm did the citizens of Karachi do to you that you burnt their buses?”

He said that the O-level and A-level exams have been postponed, to the detriment of our children, the students of Pakistan. The PTI chief is involved in harming not only the people but also the country.

Sindh Chief Minister gave instructions to clear the road but avoid any kind of collision. Chief Minister showed his traditional wisdom. However, it should be noted that those involved in arson and damage to government property will be arrested. An FIR will be lodged against them, and no exceptions will be made for anyone.

“Yesterday, across the country, PTI did something that has never happened in the history of Pakistan. Anti-national forces are celebrating by showing clips of yesterday’s events,” minister lamented. (PR)
