Hidayatullah Kakar, Ms. Saima Bano, Sajjad Hussain Rind and Abid Hussain Khoso carried out research on making products from banana waste leaves, dehydration of mustard during water scarcity, controlling the insects in onions and strategies for getting rid of weeds for growth of cotton yield.

Four more scholars of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam were awarded PhD degrees in their fields at a simple ceremony held at Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat on Thursday.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri conferred the degrees on the Scholars on the recommendation of the Board of Advanced Studies.
Hidayatullah Kakar, a Scholar in the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Crop Production, had completed the research under the title “Development of bio-char products made from banana waste leaves and their effects on soil assessment and corn production”; Ms. Saima Bano, a Scholar of Plant Breeding and Genetics of the same faculty, completed her research on “Genetic experiments in the Dehydration of Mustard Crops during Water scarcity “.
Sajjad Hussain Rind, a Scholar of Plant Protection, Faculty of Crop Protection, completed his research on “Better Agricultural Practices for Control of Thrips in Onions”, while Abid Hussain Khoso, a Scholar of Agronomy, Faculty of Crop Production, completed his research on “Strategies for Controlling Weeds to Increase Cotton Growth and per acre yield”.
The scholars presented their research theses to Vice-Chancellor.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri advised the scholars to pass on the benefits of their research to the agriculture and farming community, so that agriculture can be developed and the problems during and post-harvest can be overcome.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Hassan, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Sub Campus Umerkot, Dr. Qamaruddin Chachar, Dean, Dr. Abdul Mubeen Lodhi, Director Advanced Studies, Dr. Imtiaz Nizamani, Dr. Aijaz Soomro, Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, Dr. Shahnawaz Marri, Dr. Muhammad Obaidullah Shirazi, Dr. Mahmooda Buriro, Dr. Bakhtunisa Mangan, Dr. Naimatullah Leghari, Dr. Imran Khatri, Dr. Noorul Nisa Memon, Dr. Irfan Gilal and others were also present.
