Karachi: Sindh government and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have joined hands for revival of Hyderabad Expo Center and promoting the trade activities.

A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed on Wednesday at a ceremony held at Sindh Secretariat. Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch singed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of Sindh government in presence of Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah and Arif Ahmed Khan, Chief Executive, TDAP.

Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah on this occasion said that Hyderabad is the second largest economic center of province and has emerged as an economic hub in for its neighboring Divisions. “By improving Hyderabad Expo Centre we can boost up the local agricultural production, livestock industry, handicrafts and other indigenous industries,” he said and added that the Expo Center will greatly help in marketing of indigenous products at national and international level.

Mumtaz Shah further said that with the revival of Hyderabad Expo Centre, regional business will grow and contribute in provincial and national economy.

Chief Executive TDAP Arif Ahmed Khan said that his organization’s experience in managing Karachi Expo Center and organizing numerous international and domestic trade promotion events coupled with the Sindh government’s administrative support, the Hyderabad Expo Centre would soon become operational to boost the exports from the region.

Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch while signing the MoU said that TDAP has always supported economic activities be it Dates Festival at Khairpur or Mango Festivals at Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions. He said by signing MoU with TDAP, Hyderabad Expo Center will emerge as great platform to exhibit different local indigenous products and subsequently pave the way for value addition and marketing of the products to enable them for access in national and international market.

Secretary TDAP Ahsan Mangi, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro and Deputy Secretary Javed Nabi Khoso were also present during the MOU signing ceremony. (PR)
