KDA launches housing schemes after 28 years

Located in Surjani Town, the project includes 25-floor towers with more than 1700 flats

The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) launched its house building activities in the city on Saturday after 28 long years with laying of the foundation stone for a residential scheme named as People’s Sky View Apartments.

Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Shah and Director General Karachi Development Authority Syed Muhammad Ali Shah laid the foundation stone of the residential scheme.

The KDA claims that this would be the first multi-storied eco-friendly residential project in KDA Scheme 41 Surjani Town Sector 7B. It would be built on an emergency basis to complete the project in a short period of time.

KDA-Housing-Scheme-1Consultant People’s Sky View Atif Nazr informed project will provide all necessary basic residential facilities including modern and high speed lifts, standby generator, boundary wall, mosque, park, play land, gymnasium. People’s Sky View Apartments will consist of 25 floor towers with more than 1700 flats of 2 and 3 rooms and double basement where more than two thousand vehicles can be parked with car parking facilities for each flat. A spacious reception area will be constructed in each tower for guests.

KDA will provide the facility of paying the price of flats in easy installments and the priority would be given to the homeless family.

Minister LG Nasir Shah said that the Sindh government is trying to provide basic facilities including housing facilities to the middle class.

Meanwhile, Minister LG Nasir Shah while talking to media said that after 28 years KDA projects have been introduced. “Karachi was built by KDA. But no project came from KDA for a long time,” he said.

To a question, Nasir Shah said that PPP has won the local body election in Karachi, and whoever has the most elected representatives, has the moral right to be the mayor of Karachi. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami has more than 80 seats and PPP has more than 100 seats. (PR)
