Engineer Dr. Naila Hina recently talked to Sindh Courier about her literary journey and the vision. [The same interview was first taken by Irma Kurti and published globally in various languages in various international newspapers]

Sindh Courier (SC): What was your approach to the world of literature?

Naila Hina (NH): There are two aspects – Universality and the Style.

My approach to the world of literature has been deeply rooted in the exploration of diverse themes and genres.

Scientific literature is a part and participle of my literary journey and go hand in hand with my works and it’s deeply connected to the universes. Laws of physics mathematics chemistry etc. are delicately woven in the fabric of my poetry.

My Literature appeals to everyone, regardless of culture, race, sex, and time limits.

The other one is Style. I believed in embracing the richness of language, but I am more into simplicity and still weaving intricate narratives that transport readers to different realms of imagination.

While I have a unique signature style of writing as well as I’m versatile and mercurial, in some of my science fiction fantasy novels I have tried my hands in different classical writer’s styles from around the world e.g. Kafka, Shakespeare, Jane Austin, Bronte, Leo Tolstoy, etc. to the modern.

Naila-Hina-Sindh- Courier-2SC: Do you remember what your first poem or story was about?

NH: While it’s challenging to pinpoint my very first poem or story, I remember that my first novel was a very interesting science fiction, detective story that I wrote in primary school.

My first poem was Udaas Shaam (Sad Evening or Evening of sadness), also Hayat: Life, and Woh Aankheyn (Those Eyes). In fact all of my first books were a humble attempt to capture the essence of nature’s beauty and the emotions it stirred within me. It revolved around and led to God’s grace and love. It marked the beginning of my poetic journey, shaping my inclination towards vivid imagery and emotional artistry.

My Literature has an aesthetic appeal and thus possesses a true sense of beauty.

naila hina-0SC: Why do you write?

NH: Writing, for me, is a conduit for self-expression, a means to connect with others on a profound level.

My soul dances and paints in writing.

As regards Intellectual Value, I write to explore the boundless realms of creativity, to articulate the profound and the ephemeral, and to share narratives that evoke a myriad of emotions. Specially Love. From “deer in the headlights” moments to finding the ultimate Truth.

SC: You have published numerous books. Which one do you feel connected to the most?

NH: Each of my published books holds a special place in my heart, like chapters of my creative evolution. If I were to choose one that resonates with me the most, it would be my childhood poetry books like بہشت چار ساعت [A paradise of four moments], works where I delved into mysticism and mysteries of love and nature of cosmos, crafting a narrative that challenged both the mind and the heart.

My science fiction book is ‘Life Is Eternal’. My other Science fiction fantasy novels are: ‘The Secret of Cleopatra’s Snakes’, ‘Aether’s lullaby’, etc.

Book-Title-Naila-HinaSC: Your poetries have also been translated into other languages. How do you feel about this?

NH: The translation of my poetry into other languages is a humbling and enriching experience. It allows me to reach a broader audience, transcending linguistic barriers and connecting with readers from diverse cultural backgrounds. The thought that my words resonate in different tongues is both gratifying and inspiring.

Doctorate-DegreeSC: How many hours a day do you dedicate to writing?

NH: Nonstop. Dedication to writing is a daily ritual for me, and I am committed to and focused on every moment to the craft. The creative process demands time and attention, and I find that consistency is key to producing work that meets the high standards I set for myself.

It’s my daily journal writing routine. A record of my life.

SC: What is the main focus of your poetries?

NH: Spiritual Value: The main focus of my poetry revolves around Truth, love, beauty, peace.

My poem is a painting, a dance of colors, music with emotions. I strive to explore these themes in depth, infusing my verses with layers of meaning, emotion, and thought-provoking imagery. It’s a continuous exploration of the human experience and the world around us.

Permanence: Our self-actualization leads to the overall development of the society and in general the universes beyond timeliness.

I think if everyone performs his duties well, the world will take care of itself automatically.

One is responsible and solely accountable for his own actions and must face himself. Then only we can reorient and build a better perspective by guidance from the inner self, the superior mind and the ultimate power and connect to the source of the existence. We are free to fly higher. So it’s like meditation or mindfulness that disconnect us from false idols and fake images and our dreams come true.

DiplomaSC: You have won various international awards. Is there any award that you consider more important and inspiring for your literary career?

NH: While each award holds its significance, the trophy that I had won in school as the Best Debater award in the interschool debate competition held at PACC, Pak American Cultural Center Karachi stands out as a pivotal moment in my literary journey. Its recognition fueled my determination to push creative boundaries, reinforcing my commitment to producing high-quality work.

Honorary Doctorates from various international organizations.

Best Writer of the decade and Best Collaborator of the Decade Awards,

Best Director General Awards, World Press Agency

World Poetic Star Award and doctorates and Diplomas from World Literature Academy, Grai Romanesc, World Poets Association, International academy for Culture development and peace etc.

Book-Naila-HinaSC: Do you think poetry is a powerful means to promote peace in the world?

NH: Absolutely, I believe poetry is a potent tool for promoting peace in the world.

Through the power of words, poetry can transcend cultural and linguistic differences, fostering empathy and understanding. It has the ability to inspire introspection, encourage dialogue, and cultivate a shared sense of humanity that transcends borders.

Rather than reacting or getting entangled in the emotional flow we find the balance and peace. The analysis is a two way practice both scientific as well as spiritual. So my poetry is more than just fantasies. It’s authentic and original. Poetry is a religion that connects all religions and everyone on deeper levels. All our needs are met. Then we can lead the humanity with sensitivity, warmth and love. It’s enlightenment.

Certificate-HinaSC: What is the name of your most popular book, project, or upcoming events?
