Shah Latif University Organizes Benazir Bhutto Sports Championship

Tug of War, Shooting Ball, Badminton, Malh (Sindhi Wrestling) and other sports are being played

Teams from different universities and colleges are taking part in the sports championship

Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Sindh Youth Organization (SYO), has organized the 2-day Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Sports Championship. The event was inaugurated on Monday at Indoor Sports Complex of the University.

Superior Science College, Khairpur, Govt. Pakistan Degree College, Khairpur, Govt. Boys College, Gambat, Govt. Girls College, Gambat, Bahria Foundation College, Khairpur and host Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur are participating in this championship.

Shah-Latif-University-Sports-Sindh-Courier-3Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Academics inaugurated the championship.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari said that sports are very important for mental and physical development. “Sports helps us to create a healthy society,” he said.

He said the co-curricular and sports activities are being organized along with academics and research activities, and the university has produced best players in every sport.

He said that we are committed to raising the awareness of sports among the youth along with education.

Earlier, Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education welcomed the guests and participants in this championship. He said that a healthy society requires a healthy mind, while sports are essential for a healthy mind.

A large number of teachers, officers and students attended the inaugural ceremony.
