Republic of Guinea hosted the third edition of the Arab Poetry Forum, organized by the Cultural Affairs Administration in the Sharjah Culture Department

The Republic of Guinea hosted the third edition of the Arab Poetry Forum, organized by the Cultural Affairs Administration in the Sharjah Culture Department, in collaboration with the Doctorate Program in Language and Civilization at Lansana Conté University in the Guinean capital, Conakry. The 2-day event saw the participation of 13 creators.

This poetry gathering series is held under the patronage of Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, reflecting his commitment to the Arabic language and its literature in Africa.

The forum took place in the Jibril Tamsir Mian hall at Lansana Conté University, attended by the university’s president, Professor Manga Keita, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Mamadou Yahya Sow, and heads of Arab diplomatic missions, along with university professors, students, and lovers of Arabic poetry.

Professor Imran Kaba managed the opening segments and welcomed the attendees, stating, “The forum represents a cultural bridge between Africa and the Arab countries.

“We affirm that the forum, over three editions, has strengthened the Arabic language in African communities and restored its important presence.”

Kaba added that the third edition witnessed wide participation, emphasizing the forum’s growing significance, especially with the increase in the number of participants.

University President Manga Keita praised Sharjah’s cultural efforts in Africa, confirming that the results of these efforts are evident through the Arab Poetry Forum in Guinea, showcasing remarkable creative output in the Arabic language.
